MENAGERIE is the independent studio practice of Sean Thielen-Esparza. Based physically in NYC, but we operate worldwide.  

 Our specialty is designing familiar interfaces for frontier technology, developing both self-directed projects and partnering with early-stage founders who are optimistic about the future.

The MENAGERIE approach is interdisciplinary, recognizing that software is becoming immersive, and at the same time, the analog world is rapidly digitizing. To keep up, we necessarily blend principles of software & object design to create experiences that are ready to collide with the real world. We’ve built everything from AI apps to crypto-enabled hardware and interactive furniture.

 MENAGERIE also incubates people working on ideas at the earliest stages of development.  

Together we build first working prototype of the product, and then secure the appropriate funding to align with the project goals. The program is free and held exclusively in-person over the course of 4 weeks. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
